Barbara L. Shahadi passed away on December 24, 2020. She would have been 81 years old on January 5th. Barbara was born in Ridley Park, PA and lived in Linwood for many years. She was a resident of Boothwyn for these past 25 years.
Barbara was the daughter of John and Marian Shiban Shahadi. She is survived by her sister, Louise V. Maslin and many nieces and nephews of whom she was so proud and who loved her dearly.
Barbara attended Notre Dame Girls’ School, West Chester University and received her Master’s from Temple University where she also did post graduate studies. Barbara was a teacher in the Penn Delco School District for 37 years. She was an active member of many educational organizations. Barbara also loved music and art and enjoyed visiting local museums.
Barbara was deeply religious and attended St. John Fisher Church in Upper Chichester where she was involved in many activities. Faith, family and friends were her core belief. Barbara was also a founding member and supporter of St. Sharbel’s Maronite Catholic Church in Newtown Square, PA.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Fisher Church on Thursday, December 31st at 10:30am with interment at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Fisher Church 4225 Chichester Ave. Upper Chichester, PA 19061.
I remember Barbara when we were a little I used to live on Green Street right behind her mother and father’s candy store on market Street also remember Barbara when I used to deliver her mail she was a very loving and happy person she will love you really be missed
