Barbara Jean Antonini (nee Power) 1930 – 2017 of Upper Chichester, PA passed away early Christmas morning surrounded by her family. Born in Roanoke, VA, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Austin) and James Lawson Power II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Antonini and her two brothers, James (Jay) Lawson Power III and David Lee Power who both passed in March of this year.
She worked as a secretary for Roger Gibbons Insurance and then for Bruno Bruni Reality until retiring in 2006. When she was younger, she loved to draw and paint pictures of animals, flowers, and historical scenery. Barbara enjoyed spending time at the Marcus Square Memorial Park with friends and playing the slots at the casino. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook, PA and St. Joseph Church in Aston, PA.
She was a loving grandmother, aunt, and friend. Barbara is survived by her son, Robert ‘Mickey’ (Carla) Power of Upper Chichester, PA; four grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Murray and Jessica Power of Wilmington, DE and Ashleigh and Robert Power of San Diego, CA. and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 30th at Immaculate Conception Church, 21 W. 8th Street, Marcus Hook, PA. The family will receive friends one hour (9 am) prior to the service. Interment immediately following the service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4010 Concord Rd, Aston, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
I just learned tonight of Barbara’s passing. Condolences to her family. We had been friends for a very long time. I use to ride home with her when we both worked in Chester. I am so sorry I didn’t know sooner. She was a sweet person and a good friend.
