Barbara G. Dugan, 77, a lifelong resident of Trainer before making her home in Glen Mills, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Chester and raised in Trainer, Barbara grew up with strong community ties and a deep appreciation for family. She graduated from Chichester High School in 1966, where she formed lifelong friendships and began her journey of giving back to others. Barbara was a coach for Chichester girls’ softball and involved with Holy Saviour Sports Association, fostering her commitment to community spirit.
Barbara found joy in other passions. She loved baking, especially when it meant creating treats with her grandchildren or sharing her homemade creations with family and friends. She also enjoyed the fun and excitement of visiting casinos. But above all, Barbara treasured the time spent with her loved ones—whether gathered around the table, celebrating life’s milestones, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Thelbert and Barbara Gammon. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 56 years, Gerald Dugan, Sr.; her children, Gerald Dugan, Jr. (Megan) and Colleen Dechant (William); her cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Jorden, Chelsea, and Sean Dugan, as well as Kaitlyn, Maggie, and Cayden Dechant; and her adored great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Max. She is also survived by her brother, Raymond Gammon (Mary), her sister, Thelma Johnson (Jim), and many nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth, generosity, and laughter.
Barbara’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and community. She will be remembered not only for her roles as wife, mother, mimi, sister, and friend, but also for the countless lives she touched with her kindness and spirit.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 22, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church in Upper Chichester. Family and friends are invited to visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will follow at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
