Barbara “Bobbie” J. Segarra (nee Griest), 71 years old, passed away April 25, 2008 at Christiana Hospital. Born and raised in Chester to the late Leroy and Elizabeth Clayville Griest, Barbara was a resident of Bear DE for the past 15 years previously residing in Linwood for most of her life.

She was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1954 and worked as a waitress at the former Linwood Restaurant and Elwyn Restaurant. She was also employed by K Mart in Bear DE.

Barbara enjoyed traveling to Puerto Rico to visit with family members and was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she also enjoyed the Philadelphia Flower Show.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Leroy and Elizabeth Griest, her husband Virgilio Segarra (1969) whom she was married for 14 years, her daughter Diane Segarra , her son William Hank Segarra (Hank passed away Dec. 2006), and her siblings William Clayville and Peggy Bogardus. She is survived by her son David Segarra with whom she resided, nieces and nephews and a large extended family in Puerto Rico.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service Tuesday 11am, Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home. Inc., 1459 Market St., Linwood, viewing Monday 7-9pm and Tuesday 10-11; burial Chester Rural Cemetery.
