Anthony J. Sciocchetti, 91 of Marcus Hook died Thursday June 17, 2010 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. He was born to Ponfilo and Louise Giampalmi Sciocchetti in Marcus Hook, where he was reared and educated and has been a resident of the borough his entire life.
He was a salesman for several car dealerships throughout Delaware County, most notably, Murphy Ford in Chester for 10 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater of Operations.
A life long member of the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church, Marcus Hook as well as the American Legion Post 926 in Ogden, PA.
He was also a long time member of the Musicians Union #484 of Chester. For many years he played Trumpet with his band in many local clubs. He was an avid golfer.
In addition to his Mother and Father and six siblings, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Irey Sciocchetti who died in 1968. He is survived by 2 Sons, Mark Sciocchetti of Portsmith, OH and John R. Sciocchetti of Marcus Hook with whom his Father made his home. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Monday June 21 at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church, Marcus Hook. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Linwood.
