Ann Marie Hockenbury – 4/16/2018

Ann Marie Hockenbury, 59, of Newark, DE passed away on April 16th at Christiana Hospital.  She was raised and educated in Ridley Park, where she was a graduate of Ridley High School with the class of 1977.  Ann Marie was a woman dedicated to her home and family.  She had a kind and generous spirit and a beautiful and contagious laugh.  She enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her home.  What she enjoyed most, however, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father, Ernest Bilbrough. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, John Hockenbury; cherished children, John Hockenbury, Jr.( Nicole), and Jessica Hockenbury (Rob); grandchildren, John III, Meghan, Joey, Cameron, Makayla, Makenzie, and RJ; mother, Anne Bilbrough;  brothers, Ernie and Michael Bilbrough; sisters, Mary Beth Medzie, and Diane Kaeser; many extended family and friends.

Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 10:30am at St. John Fisher Church 4225 Chichester Ave., Boothwyn, Pa.  Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 9:30-10:30am in church.  Burial will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.   2. Ann’s sweet, kind heart will be so missed, but never forgotten. My dear brother John, feel her quite strength and know that Steven is by her side.

  3. Jessica, I can only imagine your feelings of loss and confusion. I hope you can find comfort in knowing how much your Mom loved you and your family. She was a strong, kind and loving person who raised good people. I hope you know how strong you are because of what you learned from her and your able to find peace in the love of your family. I am so sorry for your loss, Jess. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. The day we are born, we cry and the world rejoices. After watching the beautiful way Ann lived her life, the world cries and Ann rejoices in the love of her Heavenly Father. We pray for all those Ann loved most of all.
