Albert G. Argentine, 80 of Wilmington, DE formerly of Marcus Hook died Thursday November 5th at his home in Wilmington. He was born to Angelo and Pauline Luberti Argentine in Marcus Hook, where he reared and educated, graduating from Eddystone High School with the class of 1946.
He owned and operated his own barber shop in Marcus Hook for over 20 years and after that was employed as a pipefitter for the former BP Oil Co. until his retirement in 1995. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Al was also very active in local politics in Marcus Hook for over 40 years having served as Judge of Elections, committee man, borough councilman and also president of the council.
A longtime member of the Marcus Hook Fire Co., the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus council in South Carolina. He was an avid fan of the Racetrack, enjoyed traveling and most of all time spent with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his sister Mary Manerchia and his twin brother Louis Argentine. Survived by his wife of 39 years Dorothy “Dottie” Albany Argentine. One son Angelo Argentine of Oxford and one daughter Danielle Palmer of Abingdon, MD and his Stepson Russell A. Walls, Jr. of Port Deposit, MD Two sisters Hilda DiCarlo of Brookhaven and Eleanor Argentine of DE. Five grandchildren.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Monday at the Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church Marcus Hook. Entombment will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood.
Friends may call Sunday evening after 7pm and after 9am Monday at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood, PA.
