Josephine “Jody” Richardson, 81, of Upland passed away on May 26th, 2024 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Jody was born and raised in Chester and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School with the class of 1961. She worked for many years as a case manager for the Delaware County Housing Authority. Jody was an active member of the Upland Historical Society and the Upland Athletic Club. She enjoyed watching detective shows, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Eustace, and Josephine Nelson; Husband, Leroy Richardson; children, Thomas Ciancia, Michael Ciancia, and Jennifer Rose Ciancia; brothers, Bobby, Eustace “Tooker,” John, and Jimmy Nelson; sister, Rose Ferry
She is survived by her son, David Ciancia; daughter-in-law, Diane Ciancia; 6 grandchildren; sister, Caroline McGowan.
Her memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 4th at 7pm at the Joseph A. Ward Funeral Home 1459 Market St. Linwood, PA. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 6-7pm. Burial will be private.
She was such a a kind lady. I will hold fond memories of her in my heart. R. I. P, Ms. C( I know she married, and became Richardson, but I still refer to her as that.💔
