Danny McDonald, 78, of Chester passed away on Friday, February 14th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Chester. He graduated from St. James High School. Danny worked as a Foreman at Sun Ship, and later Pennsylvania Shipbuilding Company, until his retirement. He was a former School Board Director of the Chester-Upland School District. Danny enjoyed spending his free time at his cabin in Lake Harmony, PA. He also liked golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, going to the gym, and following Notre Dame sports. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, friends, and his cats.
He is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Fair) and Joseph (Terry); several nieces and nephews; many close friends.
His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 22nd at 10:30am at St. John Fisher Church 4225 Chichester Avenue, Boothwyn, PA. Friends and family are invited to visit starting at 9:30am. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery 1701 Market St, Linwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Knights of Columbus charities www.kofc.org, or Providence Animal Center 555 Sandy Bank Rd, Media, PA.
I’m saddened to learn that Danny passed away…I took care of Angela his mother and he always treated me like family because my last name was McDonald! I will always remember him and Ang…May they Rest In Peace

So sorry to learn of Danny’s passing. Today my husband and I were driving through Immaculate Heart Cemetery and noticed that the McDonald family gravesite had been dug up. I checked the Del.Co Obits sand saw that Danny had passed. We extend our sympathies to his family and friends. Tommy we would have attended his services had we known. Sadly Terry and Gus Krause

I’ve known Danny for a long time. He was a great friend and was always up and happy even though he suffered quite a bit. Heaven has gained another good person. May he Rest In Peace.
