Betty Jo Hughes, 82, of Linwood passed away on Thursday, June 23rd at Glen Mills Senior Living. She was born to Hazel and Irene McCann in West Virginia where she was raised and educated. She worked for many years for Harrow-Servo Controls as a supervisor until her retirement. Betty Jo enjoyed and was a skilled sewer. She made clothing and also would take on sewing projects for various groups in the community. She spent many years as a caregiver for her son and husband. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her late husband, Joseph Hughes who was the love of her life.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Joseph Hughes (2016); son, Thomas Hughes (2022); brother, James McCann (2019); granddaughter, Reenea Hughes (2006)
She is survived by her children, Bill Hughes (Jamie), Joseph Hughes, Florence Nesspor (John), Fran DiNardo (William); 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren
Her funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 29th at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook. Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 9:30-10:30 in church. Burial will be private.
May perpetual light shine upon Betty. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God Rest In Peace.
