George J. Liberato, 83 of Claymont, DE died February 9, 2010 at Taylor Hospice Ridley Park, PA. He was born to James and Marie "Mary" Oreo Liberato in Marcus Hook, where he was reared and educated, attending Eddystone High School and graduating with the class of 1945. He has lived in Claymont for the last 50 years.

A bricklayer for the former Sun-Ship and Drydock Company, from where he retired. A longtime member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Claymont, DE, he also enjoyed time spent at his summer home in Wildwood, NJ and his winter's skiing and Ice skating.

Husband of the late Ann Kerr Liberato. He is survived by one brother Joseph Liberato of Linwood, PA and one sister Elizabeth "Betty" Gomack of Las Vegas, NV. Many nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30am Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Claymont, DE. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Upper Chichester. Friends may call Friday evening after 7pm and after 9am Saturday at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood.
